On December 8, 2020, Asaljuru Weida Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of WEIDA, achieved a significant milestone with the partial handover of the Day Care Centre at Sarawak General Hospital. This event marked the completion of the Centralised Integrated Pathology Lab and Blood Bank. The ceremony was attended by Dato’ Seri Dr. Chen, Ketua-Setiausaha of Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM), and Dato Sri Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak.
The full completion of all new buildings is targeted for June 2021 and includes:
- 1. Day Care Centre
- 2. Centralised Integrated Pathology Lab
- 3. Blood Bank
- 4. Medical Day Care Ward
- 5. Surgical Day Care Ward
- 6. Endoscopy Suites
- 7. 7 Day Care Operating Theatres
- 8. Multi-Storey Car Parks for SGH staff
- 9. Medi-Hotel c/w Multi-Storey Car Parks for general public
These new facilities will enhance the environment for SGH patients, improve service quality, provide ample parking, and help reduce long waiting times.
